Requirements

Kennit runs on iPhone and iPad (iOS / iPadOS 18 or later) and Mac (macOS 14 Sonoma or later). Sign in to iCloud to sync your decks across all of your devices.

Getting started

1. Create a deck, then add the people (and pets) you want to learn.
2. Give each one a photo — from your library, the camera, paste, or drag-and-drop — and optionally a pronunciation, a birthday, and how they're related to others.
3. Tap Start Review and grade yourself as each name comes up.

How reviews work

Kennit schedules each person with spaced repetition: names you know come back less often, and ones you're shaky on come back sooner — right before you'd forget. Mark each card as got-it or missed, and your mastery builds over repeated correct recalls.

Frequently asked questions

Does my data sync between my devices?

Yes. Your decks sync through your own private iCloud across iPhone, iPad, and Mac signed in to the same Apple ID. You can turn syncing off in the app's Settings. See the Privacy Policy for what is and isn't collected (nothing is).

What does Kennit collect about me?

Nothing. There are no accounts, analytics, ads, or trackers, and the developer has no servers. Everything stays on your device and in your private iCloud.

Can I add pets?

Yes — add a pet much like a person, with a species and an optional "include in reviews" toggle, and link it to its owner.

Are there built-in decks?

Kennit comes with US Presidents and Authors decks, and there's a US-states map deck you can import. You can also build your own from scratch.

Can I share a deck with someone?

Yes. Export any deck as a .kennitdeck file and share it via AirDrop, Messages, or Files; opening one on another device imports it.

How do I add or adjust a photo?

When adding or editing a person or pet, use the Photos picker, the camera (iPhone / iPad), paste, or drag an image in (Mac). Tap a photo to crop, zoom, and reposition it.
